Hilarious, considering you are the one shouting, you might actually be hysterical!.

They don't have much in terms of bulk foods, but they have an amazing assortment of just regular grocery items that are all organic/glutenfree/nutfree.
HUGE variety of frozen foods (like pizza, french fries, burritos, entrees, bread etc...), crackers, snackfoods (cookies, kale chips, tortilla, raw, popcorn, potato, sweet potato etc...), pretty much an entire wall of protein bars. They don't have any fruits, veggies or meats (except some frozen stuff) up there though. They were stocking a wall of vitamins/supplements behind what looks like is going to be a cash register.
cherryblossom wrote:I went to check out the new Foodtown and I'm pleasantly surprised at the changes. They carry everything I was looking for and I was ridiculously excited to see they carry my favorite laundry detergent. (I can never find it around here.) The second floor is phenomenal. I went at an off hour - I think about 2 other people up there with me - so I slowly wandered to check out as much as I could. PB2 at a decent price, multiple choices of coconut oil, tons of choices of "non-milk milk", and the enormous selection of Bob's Red Mill made me a happy camper. One thing I still cannot understand is what makes the same ground turkey (Shady Brook Farms) worth $2 more to buy it in Brooklyn! My meats will probably continue to come from out east, but I think I'll switch the bulk of my grocery shopping to Foodtown.

I love a good dumpling. But those hours are a little odd: opens 9:30am and closes 8:30pm. There are no breakfast dumplings and it all but rules out getting any dumplings in the evening after work. Wouldn't 11am til 10 or 11pm make more sense for a dumpling house? (Not that there is anything wrong with eating regular dumplings in the morning.)

The dumplings are good and fresh; owner/service is nice. Not on my gotta have 'em all the time list though. Hours are definitely weird and not being open on Sunday is suicidal for a food place.

From what I've heard, it has to do with a rent increase at their current location and so they're considering moving to the former JT's space. But they haven't decided yet because they're worried about possibly losing some of their older regulars with a move.
One of the owners also owns Pipins, right? That would be convenient for him. I understand their reluctance regarding their older regulars though.
naked rev. trish wrote:I actually heard the Chadwick's rumor at the gym. Then it was posted on FB, then it was denied and someone had spoken the owner blah blah blah not happening. then over the weekend someone again posted that the building is being sold and Chadwicks has to leave so they are going to the JT space and that Chadwick's actually made JT vacate.
I can't find the post so I don't know if they took it down due to privacy or accuracy issues or whatnot.

I noticed a sign in their window last week...it says closed for renovations, re-opening April 2013
