Instead of allowing you or OB to assume what I meant by "local issues" I gave examples defining what I meant it to mean. Topics like the trains running slow, or a restaurant that sucks. I've never commented in the stores opening and closing thread. Those are local issues, that people who live in Bay Ridge deal with.

A police shooting in another section of Brooklyn is hardly a local issue to Bay Ridge.

depends what am I going there for? hipster bars? street corner drug deals? easy women who do things for an hourly rate for money? while they don't have any shake shacks there are reasons to go there... not sure I would spend 4-5 hours on a plane to do it but our subways are handy if they are anything....
